Our panel chair brings a wealth of experience to the role and will ensure that panel runs smoothly, as well as putting prospective foster carers at ease.
Our panel members are made up of people with a diverse range of personal experiences and professional backgrounds.
The Panel Members
Our fostering panel is made up of people with a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience and includes First for Fostering staff members. Some of our panel members have a professional background in childrens services or social care. Our panel members also have access to legal advice and medical advice, should they need it.
What duties do the fostering panel have?
A fostering panel has the following duties:
When the panel are satisfied that the applicants meet fostering regulations and are prepared for the fostering role they will recommend approval of applicants to the Agency Decision Maker.
After careful consideration of panels recommendations, the final decision to approve foster carers rests with the Agency Decision Maker.
